Resuming your former name after divorce
If you changed your name when you married, you can go back to your pre-marriage name with a simple declaration, at any time after the divorce.
How to do it
You make a declaration at any civil registry office in Switzerland, or at the Swiss representation if you live abroad (art. 119 CC). Your former spouse can neither force you to do so nor object to it. A fee is charged under the federal tariff.
And then
You need to renew your identity documents and inform your employer, your bank and your insurers. If you hold another nationality, have the change registered in that country too.
